Simão Ribeiro

Born on November 20, 1996, began his musical studies at 11 years old at the Porto Music Conservatory in 2007, with the Professor Joaquim Oliveira. In 2013 he is admitted to the Espinho Professional Music School in the course of Winds and Percussion in the class of the professor Alexandre Vilela and Daniel Dias. Currently is on his 4th year of the bachelor course at "Codarts, University of the Arts" in Rotterdam with Brandt Attema, Ben van Dijk and Alexander Verbeek teacher's class.

 

With orchestra collaborated with the orchestras of the Porto Music Conservatory with the consuctor Fernando Marinho. He has also collaborated regularly with the Orquestra Clássica de Espinho with diverse contuctors such as Jean-Marc Burffin, Cesário Costa, Pedro Neves and Jean Sébastien Bereau. In 2015 was admitted to the Portuguese Youth Orchestra (JOP), with José Eduardo Gomes and Pedro Carneiro. In 2017 he was accepted to join the Orchestra Academy of the "Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra" and in 2019 and 2020 was accepted to join the Dutch Youth Orchestra (NJO).

 

In 2014 won the 2nd Prize in the International Wind Competition "Terras de la Salette" in the junior category (16-18 years old). In 2018 won the 1st Prize in the same competiton but in the Senior category (18-26 years). In 2019 he was selected as First Alternate at the "Donald Yaxley Bass Trombone ITA Competition".

 

He did some masterclasses/private classes with several teachers such as Pete Saunders, Daniel Dias, Nuno Martins, Gonçalo Dias, Rui Bandeira, Severo Martinez, Hugo Assunção, Zeferino Pinto, Ricardo Mollá Albero, George Curran, Ben van Dijk, Randal Hawes, Bart van Lier, Roel Avonds, Brandt Attema, Martin Rex, Jesper Sorensen, Andreas Klein, Stefan Schulz, Ian Bousfield and Christian Jones
